Our achievements

Our achievements play a major role in the development of livestock, rural economies and livestock farms in agriculture dependent Bangladesh. Livestock is an essential sector of food security, balanced food security, self-employment, foreign exchange earnings, fertility of agricultural land and development of memory and formation of talented nation. The role of livestock in the agricultural economy of the country is about 1.5% and about 5% of the population is dependent on livestock indirectly or indirectly (Source: Livestock Economics Branch). Twenty-five percent of the population is lively and 5 percent is dependent on livestock, indicating the livelihood of livestock in poverty alleviation. Ying has grown steadily over the financial year. At present, there are 20 million livestock in the country, 1 lac 1 thousand buffalo, 2 crore 5 lamb goats and 5 lac 3,000 sheep (source: livestock economy branch). According to the Department of Livestock, the production of milk, meat and eggs is currently 5% (12.5 lb metric tons), 5% (1.22 lb metric tons) and 5% (5.25 million tonnes) respectively. According to the current government's Vision 2021, the production of animal feed will need to be increased almost twice the current in light of the growing population of the country.
